The installation of ceramic fibre linings particularly in modular form is a quick, efficient way of lining a vessel. Ceramic Fibre is a stable product which unlike its more traditional counterparts is not subject to thermal shock and can be heated and cooled at random without any serious resultant damage. If anything, a slight shrinkage takes place with Ceramic Fibre but this can be rectified by expending a little time now and then stemming the gaps which might be apparent. Providing there is no possibility of mechanical damage, the introduction of a Ceramic Fibre lining can prove to be an economical solution to refractory design.
